Huis Bergh Castle Foundation

Preservation of heritage, art, archive, and estate

An ancient story

The Huis Bergh Foundation was established in 1946 by Jan Herman van Heek with the aim of preserving the unique heritage of Huis Bergh. Since then, the foundation has been committed to protecting and preserving the castle, the exceptional art collection, the extensive archive, and the surrounding estate.
In Huis Bergh, you don't just feel the passage of time; you step into a story that has been passed down for centuries. Admired for generations. And still just as tangible.

Our Goal

With care, knowledge, and a love for history, work is being done to preserve this special place. This involves not only the preservation of buildings and collections, but also keeping alive the stories, traditions, and history connected to Huis Bergh.

Through restoration, research, education, and public activities, the Huis Bergh Foundation aims to ensure that future generations can continue to discover and experience the castle. In this way, Huis Bergh remains a place where culture, nature, and history come together. This is the mission of a small team employed by the Foundation, supported by indispensable volunteers.
